SUMMARY:Kate Mosse
DESCRIPTION:Kate Mosse\nwith Steven Gale \nAutumn\nThe Story of a Season \nExploring folklore\, nature and creativity\, Autumn is a love-letter to Sussex and an atmospheric portrait of the autumn season from one of our best-loved writers. \nKate Mosse takes us to the Sussex marshlands of her childhood\, when they are at their mulchy\, misty\, golden-hued best. In the reed banks she spots plovers and Goldeneye ducks. Along the sea wall\, she glimpses purple sea lavender\, Brent geese and curlews\, in the oak pond\, herons and little egrets. \nPlace is the inspiration for all of Kate’s writing. Her stories come from the landscapes of south-west France\, Holland\, South Africa\, and her native Sussex. Kate has written 11 novels and is the founder director of the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction. She is also a trustee of the British Library. In 2024\, she was awarded a CBE for services to literature\, women\, and charity. \nKate appeared at the book festival in 2020\, online\, and we are so pleased to have her back in person for our tenth festival. Her husband Greg and son Felix are completing the Mosse family line-up this year. \nSteven Gale will be in conversation with Kate.

SUMMARY:James Campbell
DESCRIPTION:James Campbell\nThe Men Who Created Winnie-the-Pooh\nThe Lives of A.A. Milne and E.H.Shepard \nwith Peter Guttridge \nIn 1924\, E.H. Shepard and A.A. Milne crafted some of the most widely recognised children’s books. Since then\, Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends have been on countless adventures through the Hundred Acre Wood in classic tales that are adored by many. \nTo mark the centenary of the first tales of Winnie the-Pooh\, James Campbell has written this joint biography of the men whose partnership brought about the creation of these iconic characters. \nIllustrated with excerpts from original manuscripts and drawings\, unseen draft illustrations\, photographs\, documents\, ephemera and more\, this beautifully produced keepsake book is a must-have for all fans. \nJames Campbell is married to E.H. Shepard’s great-grandaughter and has had responsibility for the oversight of his artistic and literary estate since 2010. \nPeter Guttridge will be talking to James Campbell.
