We have decided not operate at full audience capacity this year and we are working very hard to ensure that your visit to Cuckfield BookFest is as safe as possible.

In order to make sure everyone feels safe at BookFest, we have produced a statement outlining the precautions we are taking.

To assist us we would be grateful if you could observe the following:

  • Please use the sanitizer provided on entry to the building and bring your own masks if you would prefer to wear them

  • We request that you arrive no sooner than 15 minutes before your event and you will be asked to go straight to your seat. You will be guided through the building via designated routes to avoid congestion. The event rooms will be thoroughly ventilated between sessions so please dress appropriately if the weather is cold.

  • After your event you will be able to visit Waterstones pop-up book store, and authors’ book signings, by exiting via the internal doors. Those not wishing to buy a book, or anyone wanting to buy a glass of wine or beer after an evening event, will exit via the external doors, either to go around the outside of the building to the High Street, or to the bar in the garden which will be open from 12.00pm to 9.30pm. Clear signage will be provided to help you move safely around the event.

  • To avoid congestion there will be no cafe this year but Sussex Coffee Trucks will be outside the front door on the High Street to supply tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks. You are welcome to bring your drinks into the event rooms but please consume food elsewhere as wrappers can be very noisy!

Of course, should the government introduce any new Covid requirements before BookFest, we will undertake all necessary precautions as advised.
